Hands-On Japanese Craft in Tokyo with Mochi Wagashi & Matcha

Looking for a relaxing and creative way to experience Japanese culture in Tokyo?

Our Hands-On Japanese Craft in Tokyo with Mochi Wagashi & Matcha class lets you enjoy a traditional craft activity followed by a delightful matcha and sweets tasting.

In this 90-minute program, you’ll design your own uchiwa (Japanese fan) using beautiful pressed flowers and origami paper, then enjoy matcha au lait and two kinds of wagashi (Japanese sweets) prepared for you.

This experience began in October and has already become popular among travelers who want to enjoy and connect with Japanese culture in a fun and approachable way.

What to Expect in the Workshop

Hands-On Japanese Craft in Tokyo with Mochi Wagashi & Matcha

This cultural workshop offers the perfect blend of creativity and relaxation.

The main activity is making your own uchiwa, a traditional Japanese round fan that has been used for centuries during summer to create a gentle breeze. Using pressed flowers and Japanese-patterned origami paper, you’ll design your fan as a one-of-a-kind keepsake.

After the crafting session, enjoy a peaceful tea time featuring matcha au lait and two wagashi sweets. The matcha au lait — a blend of green tea powder and milk — is smooth, creamy, and easy to drink even for first-timers.
