We are pleased to introduce a Japanese Home Cooking Experience to our inbound group lesson offerings.
If you would like to experience the everyday side of Japanese food culture, home cooking is a great place to start. In this class, participants will prepare a variety of dishes that are commonly enjoyed in Japanese households.
Rather than focusing on one specialty, this experience offers a chance to explore different types of meals that are familiar and widely enjoyed across Japan.
Why This Experience Is Recommended
Learn Popular Japanese Home-style Dishes
In this class, you will cook well-known and widely enjoyed Japanese dishes.
Each menu reflects meals that are commonly eaten at home, offering a practical and approachable introduction to Japanese cuisine.
Sample Menus (Examples of Available Experiences)
Below are some sample menus that can be offered.
A: Okonomiyaki Set (with 2–3 side dishes)

Okonomiyaki is a savory pancake made with batter and cabbage, cooked on a griddle and topped with sauce.
In this experience, participants will first prepare a flavorful dashi (Japanese soup stock) from scratch, which will be used in the dish. The set includes a few side dishes.
B: Gyoza & Takoyaki Set (with 2 side dishes)

Prepare pan-fried gyoza with a crispy texture, along with takoyaki, a popular street food from Osaka often enjoyed at festivals.
Participants will also make dashi from scratch, which is used to enhance the flavor of the takoyaki.
C: Rolled Sushi & Teriyaki Set (with 2–3 side dishes)

Make sushi rolls and enjoy them with teriyaki (chicken or yellowtail) and miso soup.
