On May 10, we welcomed 15 participants from a Japanese language school for a hands-on Japanese cultural workshop.
Create a Hokusai-Inspired Red Fuji Art Bento

In this lesson, participants created a beautiful art bento inspired by "Red Fuji," one of the most iconic masterpieces by the renowned Japanese ukiyo-e artist Katsushika Hokusai.

Using colorful ingredients, they recreated the striking contrast of the red mountain, blue sky, and green landscape. Through careful arrangement and presentation, participants experienced the beauty of Japanese cuisine while learning about traditional Japanese art and aesthetics.

With step-by-step guidance from the instructor, everyone completed their own unique Red Fuji Art Bento. The finished bentos looked like miniature works of art, showcasing each participant's creativity and attention to detail.
Experience Japanese Culture Through Food

This workshop offered more than just a cooking class—it was an opportunity to experience Japanese culture through food, art, and creativity.
Participants learned about Hokusai's famous artwork while discovering the Japanese tradition of beautifully presented bento. The experience was enjoyed by everyone, and many participants proudly photographed their finished creations before sitting down to enjoy their meals.
