School Outside of School: A Unique Ramen Experience in Tokyo

We had the pleasure of hosting two wonderful families from the United States in our ramen tour. One family consisted of a sister and her younger brother, while the other was a family of three with a middle-school-aged son.
This wasn’t just a cooking tour—it became a school outside of school, offering valuable learning experiences.

The younger brother, a high school senior, participated in our tour as part of his senior project. He plans to write a report about his experience and present it at school. What a meaningful way to incorporate a ramen-making experience into his academic journey!
The family of three also recognized the educational value of the class. They viewed it as an opportunity for their son to learn skills and gain cultural insights that couldn’t be found in a traditional school setting. Engaging in a cooking class abroad truly became a unique classroom experience.
Both families showed enthusiasm and skill, crafting delicious bowls of ramen while enjoying the process. It was inspiring to see how this experience brought learning, creativity, and fun together in one setting.
